Tess

Tess Mahoney has been my best girlfriend since i've returned to Hotchkiss. She's been there for me, whether to cheer me up or give me mono (lord was that awful) and I really love her with all my heart. Unfortunately, she's graduating and leaving me to go on gap year and eventually college, the naughty girl. She loves sailing (Those are sailboats in the bubbles), and I love her, so this is for her and her parents. I haven't done acrylic in SO long but Sbaraci's ([link]) contest, "Art For Art's Sake", made up purely for traditional artwork seemed like a perfect opportunity to get away from my usual watercolor and try some new traditional forms, and turns out i LOVED it. You all should give it a try. Normally I get so frustrated with painting - so many layers, so much time, but this was tons of fun and I made it in just aprox 8 hours. I'd been itching to go big and this particular painting is 24x36, a lot larger than I'm used to.

Tess, I love you, I love painting, and I can't wait to give this to you! I hope you all like it. Go and make art, now. Don't think you need anything fancy - i only had 5 tubes of paint for this and 2 brushes. Not all art has to be outrageously expensive.
